In Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic, KESINO provided CAASD's water supply and wastewater treatment control center with a 20-person direct discharge control console solution, helping it upgrade its water supply management system to be more intelligent and centralized.


Project Background


Upgrading the city's water supply system demands higher standards for control consoles.


CAASD (Santo Domingo Aqueduct and Sewer Corporation) is responsible for the water supply and wastewater treatment operations for millions of residents across Santo Domingo. With the city's expansion and the continuous increase in the number of pumping stations, the existing decentralized monitoring model is no longer sufficient to meet the needs of unified scheduling and real-time management of over 450 pumping stations.


The next-generation control center needs to achieve:


  • Stable operation 24/7/24

  • Centralized display and coordinated control of multi-system data

  • Efficient working mode with multi-position collaborative scheduling

  • Long-term reliability to withstand high humidity and corrosive environments


After comprehensively evaluating structural strength, system integration capabilities, and industry adaptation experience, CAASD selected the Kesino KCB series control console as its core operating platform.

KCB Series 20-Person Straight-Line Control Console Custom Design


Straight-line layout enhances centralized monitoring and collaborative scheduling


The control center adopts a continuous straight-line control console layout for 20 people, ensuring centralized information and smooth communication.


Each seat measures 1800 × 1050 × 750 mm, fully meeting the needs of multi-screen monitoring and equipment operation. Each seat can simultaneously deploy 6 display terminals, covering core pump stations and key operating parameters.


Ergonomically optimized field-of-view design allows operators to complete main monitoring tasks within a 120° effective field of view, significantly reducing fatigue from long-term duty and improving cross-seat collaboration efficiency.


Meanwhile, the 1.2-meter wide main aisle and rounded corner protection structure ensure comfortable daily passage while also providing ample space for rapid response in emergency situations.


Industrial-grade structure, adapted to the harsh environment of the water supply industry


Considering the long-term operating characteristics of water supply and wastewater treatment control rooms, the KCB control console strictly adheres to industrial-grade standards in its structure and material selection:

  • The main frame is made of 6063-T5 aerospace-grade aluminum alloy.

  • The internal load-bearing structure is made of 2.0 mm galvanized steel plate.

  • It has a load-bearing capacity of up to 200 kg/m and excellent resistance to deformation.

  • The tabletop is made of E0-grade environmentally friendly HPL board with a nano-coating treatment.


This combined structure possesses excellent moisture resistance, corrosion resistance, and scratch resistance, enabling long-term stable operation in wastewater treatment and high-humidity environments, meeting the requirements of 24/7 continuous operation in water supply control centers.


System Integration and Maintenance-Friendly Design


To address the cabling and maintenance challenges posed by the parallel operation of multiple systems, the KCB series control console features a highly integrated internal structure:

  • A pass-through cabinet structure supports centralized cabling.

  • Pre-installed space for 19-inch standard equipment.

  • A 500mm maintenance aisle at the rear facilitates inspection and upgrades.

  • Separate isolation between high-voltage and low-voltage circuits reduces the risk of signal interference.


Furthermore, the control console integrates a multi-scene ambient lighting system, providing intuitive visual cues during normal operation and in abnormal situations, further enhancing scheduling safety and operational clarity.

  • Real-time monitoring and remote control of 50 key pumping stations have been achieved.

  • Centralized management of core functions such as pump start/stop, energy consumption analysis, and water pressure regulation is supported.

  • System fault response time has been reduced from hours to minutes.

  • Modular structural design has reduced overall installation and commissioning time by approximately 80%. Stable structure and protection design effectively reduce subsequent operation and maintenance costs.
